BREAKING NEWS: Former PM Rewards Impoverished Student for Excellent Exam Score

PHNOM PENH: Former Prime Minister Hun Sen took to Telegram to announce that he will be supporting an impoverished student with disabled parents who got an A on his High School Diploma exam.

Orn Phanit was one of only about 2% of students who managed to score an A on the difficult exam this month. He lives in poverty in Kampot Province with his disabled parents. As a reward for his hard work, the former Prime Minister said that he will pay off Phanit’s family’s debt and support them with one million Riels (about $244 US) per month. He also promised to have a small house constructed for the family. He also pledged to provide a motorcycle so that Phanit can attend his studies at a university in Phnom Penh when he enrolls.

Minister of Interior Sar Sokha also donated two million Riels to the exceptional student, along with an additional motorcycle that will help his siblings.
